  • DESCRIPTION

KÖMMERLING 88 is a high-insulation 7-chamber center seal system with a modern construction depth of 88 mm. The standard system version returns an outstanding Uf value of 0.95 W/(m2K) and so fulfills the high energy saving requirements for passive houses. The special feature though: Unlike similar solutions, this value is achieved with the steel reinforcement for max element sizes and on color profiles as well. Yet the convincing features of the new profile generation are not only its energy-saving properties but also the architectural potential directs our eyes to the future: The stable structure can take triple or ultra-modern functional glazing up to 58 mm thick. KÖMMERLING 88 makes large windowed areas possible for a visually appealing facade design with outstanding sound insulation values. In addition, large windowed areas allow the passage of more solar energy – especially in the cold seasons – and so minimize energy needs and hence CO2 emissions. In addition to classical white, the system comes with color laminates – offering woodgrain, plain, and metallic colors – that are applied to the outside (white inside) or both sides.

  • FRAME

88UPW.k is a uPVC window system with 88 mm basic depth. It is affordable, easy to care for, durable, insensitive to moisture and has low conductivity. No surprise that this material is in use in various areas - and also in uPVC window construction. On the one hand, uPVC, when heated, is extremely flexible and therefore facilitates varied window shapes such as triangular uPVC windows or round and pointed arches. Once this material is hardened, it is however very robust. Thus, uPVC windows are hardly affected by weather conditions, making maintenance an easy task. Also humidity, such as occurs e.g. in wet rooms, does not affect the UPVC windows. Thermal insulation is excellent due to the low conductivity. Profile cavities and insulation with uPVC windows additionally improve thermal insulation.

  • HARDWARE

Roto hardware, locks, and hinges made in Germany are standard on this window. The biggest benefit that a multipoint locking system brings to a door or window is the added security and improved occupant sense of safety. Multipoint systems can also improve weatherstripping performance and offer a more secure and weather-resistant seal. This is one of the reasons multipoint locking systems have been embraced in Europe, where more stringent energy code requirements are in place. Of course, multipoint locks are also recognized by insurance companies as offering enhanced and improved security to homes and businesses. High strength and security from multipoint locking on all 4 sides. Airtight and weather-sealed with continuous gasketing on all 4 sides. Multipoint also helps prevent warping, even for very tall sashes.

  • WEATHER STRIPPING

Three aviation-grade EPDM weather seal strips. Aviation grade EPDM gaskets are an outstanding long-term seal. They have many advantages: excellent acoustic and thermal insulation, high elasticity and long-term elastic recovery, UV-resistant, ozone-resistant, weatherproof, no contact discoloration on frame material, and elastic and impermeable at temperature ranges from -35 °C to +100 °C.

  • INSULATED GLASS UNIT

Standard glazing for 88UPW.k is 5mm Saint-Gobain Planitherm Ultra N II / ARG90 / CLR / ARG90 / Planitherm Ultra N II (5mm/5mm/5mm) 39mm, with industry-leading Ködispace 4SG TPS spacer. Planitherm is high transmission range, high-performance, low-emissivity products, offering the lowest center pane U- value in the market thus providing excellent thermal insulation for the most demanding of glass specifications. Renowned for its extremely neutral appearance Planitherm very effectively reflects long-wave heat radiation back into a room, thereby minimizing heat loss through a window while also maximizing solar heat gain and natural light transmission. Unlike traditional thermoplastic spacers, Ködispace 4SG TPS spacer's reactive butyl forms a chemical bond both with the silicone secondary sealing used in glass façades and with the glass surface itself. In this way, Ködispace 4SG bonds solidly with the pane and ensures long-term gas impermeability. Ködispace 4SG TPS has the best Psi and Ug values. It has the lowest failure rate in the industry against between-the-glass condensation and fogging and is why GlasFëns uses it as a standard spacer. It's an up-charge with other window suppliers but here it's standard.
