68WAW.b is a wood window with exterior aluminum cladding, with 68 mm basic depth. Wood provides naturalness and warmth as a material. Characteristics such as low thermal conductivity as well as high strength and stability fulfil even high static requirements of a window. The composite of aluminium and wood in windows features a weather-resistant aluminium clad on the outside and a warm wood surface on the inside of the wood-aluminium window. This results in a composite window with perfect insulation properties with narrow construction depth and many possibilities of colour design. Wood creates comfort – it is a feel-good material. Aluminum on the other hand, offers a robust protective shield against the elements. Put together, they form an aluminum clad wood window or door which lasts for generations without the need for continuous maintenance. The aluminum cladding stands-off of the wood and acts as a rainscreen allowing the wood underneath to weep & dry, unlike other aluminum clad competition. Next to the classic wood types such as spruce and larch, we can also offer you oak, ash and walnut. These are available in different colors. In addition to RAL colors, GlasFëns offers a selection of transparent and semi-transparent stains (e.g. oak, mahogany, beech, walnut). Thus, your composite windows can perfectly match your interior design, your floors and your interior doors.

Standard glazing for 68WAW.b is 5mm Saint-Gobain Planitherm Ultra N II / ARG90 / CLR / ARG90 / Planitherm Ultra N II (5mm/5mm/5mm) 39mm, with industry-leading Ködispace 4SG TPS spacer. Planitherm is high transmission range, high-performance low-emissivity products, offering the lowest center pane U- value in the market thus providing excellent thermal insulation for the most demanding of glass specifications. Renowned for its extremely neutral appearance Planitherm very effectively reflects long-wave heat radiation back into a room, thereby minimizing heat loss through a window while also maximizing solar heat gain and natural light transmission. Unlike traditional thermoplastic spacers, Ködispace 4SG TPS spacer's reactive butyl forms a chemical bond both with the silicone secondary sealing used in glass façades and with the glass surface itself. In this way, Ködispace 4SG bonds solidly with the pane and ensures long-term gas impermeability. Ködispace 4SG TPS has the best Psi and Ug values. It's the lowest failure rate in the industry against condensation between the glass and fogging and is why GlasFëns uses it as a standard spacer. It's an up-charge with other window suppliers but here it's standard.
